SOLDIERS AND GEOGRAPHY
Expand Your World
Soldiers and geography are entwined and connected so meticulously that you cannot have one without the other. Soldiers spend most of their service learning about physical geography, landforms, processes, topography, the meteorology that shapes the landscape, earth systems and climates, human geography regional geography and food geography. Skills such as cartography, navigation, sketching, mud models, photography, surveying, and exploration are second nature to most who have served in the military and this relationship with geography is part of who they are.
Our campaign is to target and develop veterans who posses previous skills and assist them progress in the expedition industry with key geographical elements.
WE WANT VETERANS
The geographical hard skills learned by so many are simply transferred into the expedition industry that support other skill such as dynamic risk assessment, contingency planning, critical thinking and strategic leadership. In short, a trained soldier is a trained geographer, and a trained geographer with the right attitude can lead expeditions!
WE ARE VETERANS
Being a company built by veterans and understanding how these two worlds collide, the Earth Trails team have launched the Soldiers and Geography campaign to encourage military veterans back into the wonderous geographical world that some have detached from post service.
